Located on the Argeș River, it was built between 1961-1966 with great human sacrifice (about 80 persons died). On the opening date, Vidraru Dam was the fifth in Europe and the ninth in the world. As experts say, it is a double curved dam, with a height of 166.6 meters and a crest length of 307 meters. At night, the outline is illuminated, so you can see it from the plane.
