Praid saline is one of the largest salt mines in the country and Europe, for centuries, its exploitation representing a source of income for local people, many of them currently working in the saline. With an elliptical shape, the deposit has diameters between 1.2-1.4 km and a depth of 2.700 meters, with reserves of nearly 500 years, a real treasure for the Transylvanian economy.

The massive exploitation of salt left large underground voids where a microclimate of salt individualized, with relatively constant temperatures, between 14 and 16°C, low humidity of 66-70% and a pressure higher than the surface, around 735-738 mmHg. Inside the salt mountain, the air is highly ionized and is very beneficial in treating heart disease.
