In Lisa, an old hydraulic installation was kept for more than 100 years with which the woolen clothes are processed. Lisa creek provided a reliable source of income for villagers, who built installations and mills in order to obtain flour, oil, and installations for cutting logs or for processing wool fabrics.

One of these installations can be seen in operation at Vâltori. It is a business that started in 1850 and was passed from father to son, so that currently, at Vâltori, the fifth generation performs its activity. In 2000, a new workshop was built, but the vestments are still manufactured with traditional techniques. Turcan sheep are specific for this area and the wool is used for manufacturing these vestments. The people at Vâltori draw our attention that these vestments are not rugs.

The vestments need a long manufacturing process: they are processed with the loom, then they are released in the whirlpool, in the thickening basket and, when, by using a long brush, the long hairs of Turcan wool that “are stuck” are removed.
