The present day castle construction was started in the 15th century by the family of the noble Losonczi Dezsofi. In the following 150 years the owners of the domain change multiple times.

The castle has a square outline, a courtyard and towers at the corners – two taller towers and two shorter ones. Many windows have a Renaissance framework. Above the entrance a picturesque balcony on stone consoles is built – consoles which can also be seen at the floor of the towers.

The entrance is through the northern part crossing a bridge over the castle’s moat. Ancient documents show that the 13th century citadel surrounded by the moat was protected by walls and towers positioned somewhere below the plateau on which the castle is built. These were destroyed during the restoration after the war.
