Curtea de Argeș Monastery is a true masterpiece of the Romanian architecture and the legend of its building will only enhance its grandeur. The monastery was built in the Byzantine style as other churches in the area, presenting also the Arab and Persian influences embedded in the external details, which give it a touch of uniqueness. The painting represents the work of Dobromir, who also painted the Dealu Monastery from Târgoviște

Next to Curtea de Argeș monastery, there is a fountainof Manole, the legendary constructor of Neagoe Basarab’s foundation, hero of several popular ballads.

The ballad of Argeș Monastery says that the craftsman Manole built his wife (Ana) within the walls of this magnificent monastery, because, inexplicably, everything that was built during the day was destroyed during the night.
